Letting your Father handle the situation
The Lord Jesus lived his life at all times by the assumption that his Father was handling the situation. He lived his life at all times with the belief that God was in control. Jesus could face the most difficult situations with joy and courage. God was in control, so he did not need to be.
For his part, all that Jesus needed to do was obey his Father. In John 8:29 Jesus says, “And he who sent me is with me. He has not left me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to him.”
What a simple way to live your life! Trusting that God is in control of your circumstances and realizing that for your part, all you need to do is obey God’s revealed will.
Freedom from Control
Our problem is that we tend to try and control our circumstances, our lives and the people within them and then get frustrated and angry when things don’t go our way. However, once we give up control and realize that God is the one who is truly in control, we can be free. Free from worry, free from anxiety and free from the anger that comes from unmet expectations.
So, What Now?
So, what situation do you need to give to our Father? What expectations do you need to let go of and allow him to work in? Remember, he is God and you are not. He will deliver on what he has promised and all you need to do is obey. Take this moment now to anchor your faith to faithfulness of God. Speak to our Father. He is listening.
