I was born in Adelaide, South Australia, but spent most of my younger years living in rural centres.
I met Jesus at the age of 24 when I shared a unit with a teaching colleague who knew the Jesus of the Bible as her personal companion and source of wisdom. This challenged my preconceived notions about ‘God’ being distant and austere, and I eventually learned to trust him with my life too.
Since then my faith in Jesus has been the greatest treasure of my life. My relationship with him has sustained me through many challenges and the vibrant truths in the bible have led and encouraged me.
I’ve now been married to my husband Steve for 34 years, and have three adult children. Interestingly, it was when Steve faced life-threatening cancer when our children were very young that we as a couple found the deepest joy and growth in our faith.
My growing experience of God and his benevolent involvement in our lives, has led me to pursue a vocation in biblical counselling. In addition to counselling two days a week, I am currently studying biblical counselling with an institution called Christian Counselling and Education Foundation.
When I have spare time, I love watching a good movie or having a cuppa with friends. I also really enjoy rainy days when I can sit by the fire with hot chocolate and read a good historical fiction. All year round, even though I whine about getting out of bed early, my favourite event of the week with my husband is our weekly tradition of an early morning walk followed by breakfast together.
