I was born toward the end of World War II in Tilburg, Holland. My parents migrated to Australia in 1951 and I experienced some painful rejection as a new Australian. I was raised in a church and from my childhood believed in God and Jesus. But at twenty God revealed Himself to me and I then surrendered my life unconditionally to Him to serve Him all my days.
A year after my conversion the Lord called me into the ministry through reading Luke 4:18-19 and the following year entered theological college for 4 years training. In spite
of being initially rejected for the ministry God opened up non-stop ministry for over 50 years until my ‘retirement’. I still volunteer close to full time.
I trained at agricultural college and worked as a valuer. This led to Kerang in Victoria where I met the Saviour and my wonderful life partner, Ruth. We were engaged for 4 years while training for the ministry. We have four married daughters who all live nearby … and we have 15 grandchildren.
I have been blessed to have spent most of my ministry at this church as senior pastor. During my time we established a leadership training college that has produced many pastors, missionaries, and leaders. We also started Cedar College that has become an effective Christian school. It has been a great blessing to have successfully passed on the baton to our new lead & teaching pastor and to support him in my retirement.
As well as counselling, mentoring, and leading Bible studies, I have developed a 5 Year Bible Reading Plan with daily questions and devotional notes. It is my passion to get to know the heart of God better and to help a new generation to gain an understanding of the relevance, wonder, and power of the gospel.
