JOY TO CANBERRA
CHURCH PLANT COMING 2021
WE EXIST TO BRING
GLORY TO GOD &
JOY TO THE CITY
By planting churches that make disciples who live out their new identity, through community, on mission
Where will we be planting?
We believe everyone everywhere needs to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ and the planting of new churches is one of the primary methods which God uses to accomplish this. Though not any more special than any other place, the south of Canberra, Tuggeranong especially, is a place God has laid upon our hearts. In obedience to this call, we seek to plant this new community in order to partake in the redemptive work of God in this area.
We feel led to an area in the south of Canberra called Tuggeranong. Within Tuggeranong, an area called Lanyon has 20,000 people and only 1 Christian church. We praise God for this faithful church already present, however believe that it is God’s will to have more communities of disciples established in this area to reach the wider community.
What are we doing?
We are hoping to plant a community of disciples in a new area in the south of Canberra. Our hope is to be a faithful presence in the midst of the wider community in southern Canberra. Through living out the transformative nature of the gospel, we seek to extend the worship of Christ into new and deprived areas.
Who are we?
We are a small group who come from various CityReach churches in Adelaide. Tom Edwards has been appointed to Pastor this community and grew up in Canberra, however has been living in Adelaide since 2013. After working various jobs as a PT and public servant, Tom completed his theological studies at Tabor College, Adelaide and Edinburgh Theological Seminary, Scotland.
